Not Microwavable!

I just opened a pack of AA batteries from Sainsbury’s. On the back it says:

“Warning! This product is fitted with a security device which is NOT MICROWAVABLE”

WTF is that about?

  4. In fact, much as I’d love to blame the US legal system, the batteries were purchased in the UK.

  5. Well, microwaving batteries is a lot of fun, but you really want the old carbon ones and I’m not sure they even exist any more. You get really good lightning storms with them.

  6. Re #1: I wasn’t aware Sainsbury’s had any stores in the US. Other UK grocery chains like Safeway and Whole Foods, yes, but not Sainsbury’s. Nor Tesco.
